Writing for personal development

Time and again I have experienced how exploring emotions and memories through writing and sharing personal stories in a supportive group can be a pleasurable and therapeutic experience. Participants often find new and joyful ways of making sense of their memories and experiences. The therapeutic value of writing for emotional and physical health is backed up by considerable research.

Writing Workshops

I design and facilitate workshops using expressive writing, reflective writing, journal writing and poetry with a range of participants including medical students, doctors, patients, older people and those with mental health challenges.  I am available for commissions and collaborative projects.

I am co-director, with my friend and colleague biblio-poetry therapist Victoria Field, of two popular international online courses -- Introduction to Therapeutic and Reflective Writing and Running Writing Workshops, hosted by the Professional Writing Academy.

After many years working as a journalist and university lecturer I chose to make  writing for personal and professional development the focus of my practice. I love my work!
